Point Grey Art & History Strategy

Sharing the Stories of Point Grey

As members of the Art and History Working Group, you are invited to share your stories, memories, and photographs connected to Point Grey to help shape how this special place is represented and celebrated.

For thousands of years, Point Grey has been a place of gathering and belonging for the Eastern Maar people - a coastal landscape rich with cultural meaning and enduring connection.

In more recent times, it has played a central role in Lorne’s history - a working coastline where timber was hauled to ships by tramline, fishing boats launched at dawn, and locals gathered for fresh fish and chips by the sea.

Your contributions - whether a favourite photo, a story passed down through generations, or a reflection from your own experience - will help guide the development of the Art and History Strategy and inspire the creative direction of future interpretation, art, and design features within the precinct.

Together, we’ll ensure Point Grey’s layers - non-lived history, Eastern Maar heritage, working harbour life, and community memories- are woven into the next chapter of its story.
