Land management transfers in Port Campbell

The Authority will be taking on land management responsibility for Crown land in Port Campbell

The community should not notice any changes to the level of service in the maintenance of the land transitioning over to the Authority.

We are committed to being transparent and accountable in our management of land for which we have responsibility. This includes working with and listening to the community to understand their views or concerns about land for which management responsibility is transferring.

As part of the Port Campbell transfer we are seeking to understand the key cultural, social, environmental, and economic values and uses, as well as capturing the community interests and local significance attached to each parcel and asset.

Management responsibility for the Port Campbell Recreation Reserve is also planned to transfer to the Authority. This process is being worked through in collaboration with the Volunteer Committee of Management and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action.

Port Campbell Recreation Reserve

Port Campbell Recreation Reserve is a well-loved camping area providing an opportunity for people to come and stay and enjoy Port Campbell and the surrounding area. It is currently managed and cared for by the Port Campbell Recreation Reserve Volunteer Committee of Management.

While the Authority presently has no role in the management of this area, we are gearing up to assume land management responsibility in the future.

As we navigate the transition of management responsibilities, we look forward to connecting locally and engaging with all who love the Reserve, to plan for its future together.

Please share your thoughts and ideas with us on the next tab about the Reserve.
