Land management transfers at the Karaaf Wetlands
The Authority has taken on land management responsibility for Crown land at the Karaaf Wetlands
The Authority took on management responsibility from Parks Victoria for the Karaaf Wetlands on 1 July 2024.
We are committed to being transparent and accountable in our management of land for which we have responsibility. This includes working with and listening to the community to understand their management responsibility is transferring.
As part of the Karaaf Wetlands transfer we are seeking to understand the key cultural, social, environmental, and economic values and uses, as well as capturing the community interests and local significance attached to each parcel and asset.
As we navigate the transition of management responsibilities, we look forward to connecting locally and engaging with all who love the Karaaf Wetlands, to plan for its future together.
