Fishermans Beach Tenure Negotiations

We are intending to enter direct tenure negotiations under the Crown Land (Reserves) Act 1978, with:

  • the Torquay Sailing Club, and
  • the Torquay Outrigger Canoe Club

For the Torquay Sailing Club, this would be a continuation of the current area occupied, however a new adjacent area would be created for the Torquay Outrigger Canoe Club.

We are proposing to permit the clubs to store watercrafts at these locations all year round.

  • Torquay Sailing Club members will have access to up to 31 spaces on the foreshore. This is the same number of spaces currently allowed.
  • A new location for the Torquay Outrigger Canoe Club which will provide space for up to three outrigger canoes.
  • Both clubs will access the beach via the current designated entry point, with all vessels to operate in accordance with Safe Transport Victoria’s waterway rules and exclusion zones.

Coastal Weed Species Removal

  • Coastal weed species will be removed to establish the defined area for the Torquay Outrigger Canoe Club.
