One of the key features of the draft Masterplan is to create a new and expanded Community precinct (community hub) to support a wide range of events and activities. This includes a new pavilion with public picnic and barbecue facilities, more open space with pathways and continuous public access along the entire Barham River foreshore, and greater access for people of all abilities has been included in the design of the new pavilion, toilets, showers, camp kitchen, tents, and playground.

The area previously occupied by camping will now be available for public recreation, markets and events from May to August.
